The Decatur Book Festival is a sensational (and free!) way to hear and meet authors, get your photograph with them, and have them sign your books, and, along the way, discover fascinating goods for sale, visit the Atlanta Writers Club booth on E. Ponce de Leon near the Atlanta Journal-Constitution tent, and eat funnel cakes and assorted food on sticks.
Did you know there is also a free Writers Conference that is part of the Festival? On Friday, September 2 at 3:00 p.m., the DBF Writers Conference kicks off with a keynote address by mystery writer Nora McFarland in McClean Auditorium at Agnes Scott College. The writing workshops will follow from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in Buttrick Hall, also at Agnes Scott College, given by some of Atlanta's finest authors as well as out-of-towners present for the Festival. Friday's events conclude with conversation and cocktails in the courtyard. For details, including registration via the Festival website, click here.
